MINSTRY OF FINANCE (MOF)
The Ministry of Finance is mandated to formulate and implement sound economic policies and public financial management, ensure efficient allocation of public resources to promote stable economic growth and development in the context of a stable macroeconomic environment. To achieve its mandate, the Ministry of Finance formulate and implement fiscal policies, maintain prudent debt levels and manage fiscal risks, maintain an appropriate balance between revenues and expenditures, and ensures transparency in budgetary and financial management.
The Minister heads the Ministry of Finance, assisted by two Deputy Ministers and a Financial Secretary. The functional departments are: Economic Policy Management; Project Fiduciary Management and Coordination; Fiscal Operations; Corporate Services and Public Accounts Services.
The Principal Deputy Financial Secretary leads the technical arm of the Ministry assisted by the Senior Deputy Financial Secretary, the Accountant General, the Chief Economist and the Deputy Financial Secretary Administration.
There are 15 divisions in the Ministry and each Division / Unit is headed by a Deputy Financial Secretary or a Director. The Financial Secretary is the professional and administrative head of the Ministry, assisted by a Principal Deputy Financial Secretary, who is also assisted by a Senior Deputy Financial Secretary.
