MISSION

Establish norms and standards to ensure efficiency and professionalism in the Public Sector

Establish a coherent legal and regulatory framework for effective public service administration;

Strengthen human resource management of the Public Service.

MANDATE

To provide Political and Technical lead to revamp the Public Service.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinate the development and implementation of Public Service reform programmes;

2. Facilitate the establishment of a coherent governance framework and fit-for-purpose institutions, including Ministries, Departments and Agencies, within the Public Service landscape; (Promotion of democratic good governance for peace and social cohesion (Cooperate Governance);

3. Support the development and implementation of capacity-building policies and strategies across the Public Service;

4. Provide policy oversight to promote coordination and collaboration and harmonize regulations, standards and procedures across government;

5. Contribute towards improved Public Administration in Africa and internationally through dialogue and sharing of best practices;

6. Prepare annual status report on the public service.
