The Sierra Leone Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL) was established by an Act of Parliament in 2004 with the mandate to promote and protect human rights in Sierra Leone through investigations, public education, and advising Government.

 

The HRCSL is set up in accordance with the UN Paris Principles on National Human Rights and is therefore required to publish guidelines and manuals on Human Rights obligations of Public officials, review existing legislations on Human Rights, monitor programmes to ensure compliance with international obligations and publish annual reports on the status of Human rights in Sierra Leone.

 

The HRCSL is made of 5(five) Commissioners as follows, a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and 3 other members. For further information on the activities of the Human Rights.
