The Agency was established in 2012 to ensure transparent and accountable management of the mineral sector which builds investor confidence to make long-term investments. The NMA is headed by a Board of Directors, and has six technical Directorates: the Director of Geological survey; the Directorate of Mines; the Directorate of Precious Minerals Trading; the Directorate of Communication and Community Affairs; the Directorate of Technology and Information Management; and the Directorate of Finance and Administration.
