This approach is based on full respect for all human rights, including the right to development, and the recognition that all human rights are universal, indivisible, interdependent and interrelated.
At the country level, UN-Women ensures that interventions fully reflect and support national priorities, through its Strategic Notes and Annual Work Plan, which are closely aligned to United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF). The Country Office also supports civil society and women’s groups, through capacity development in line with lessons learned from evaluations.
UN-Women champions and supports more coherent and enhanced performance and accountability for gender equality, women’s empowerment and gender mainstreaming in the UN system in Sierra Leone through the UN Gender Theme Group.
