WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME (WFP)

The World Food Programme (WFP) started operating in Sierra Leone in 1968 providing food aid to support economic and social development and promote food security.

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), WFP Sierra Leone country Strategic Plan (2020-2024) supports national efforts to end hunger and strengthens partnerships for sustainable development. WFP’s strategic plan is aligned to the Sierra Leone Medium Term National Development Plan and interventions are focused on: Maternal and Child Nutrition, Food for People living with HIV/AIDS, Smallholder and Agriculture Market Support, Resilience Building, and School Feeding.
