INNOVATIONS FOR POVERTY ACTION (IPA)

 

Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) has its operations in Western Rural, Kambia, Bombali, Tonkolili and Karene which is implementing project in the Health and Agricultural sector it is a research and policy non-profit organization that develops and promotes effective solutions to global poverty problems. IPA brings together researchers and decision-makers to design, rigorously evaluate, and refine these solutions and their applications, ensuring that the evidence created is used to improve the lives of the world's poor. IPA was established in Sierra Leone 2009 to help boost Agricultural activities in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture primarily to understand the impact of NERICA rice.

 

In recent years, IPA has worked in the health sector to study village involvement in monitoring clinics service provision and during the Ebola crisis and most recently the Covid-19, IPA designed and implemented a system for electronic Ebola Contact Tracing in the worst affected districts

 

Currently, IPA is supporting COVID-19 pandemic response through Research for EffectiveCOVID-19 Responses (RECOVR) that generates evidence and advising the governments and other decision-makers on how data can be used to mitigate the impacts of the crisis.
