EMERGENCY SURGICAL PAEDIATRIC CENTER
EMERGENCY opened a surgical centre in Sierra Leone in 2001 but later established a Paediatric Centre to provide free, high-quality healthcare for children under-14. These two initiatives received support from the local government and the Ministry of Health, through the allocation of healthcare workers and the implementation of national programmes supporting paediatric health. EMERGENCY staff works closely with the District Health Medical Team and the local health authorities in the Western Area Rural District.
Currently, Emergency is supporting Convid-19 emergency and preparedness response of the Government of Sierra Leone.
EMERGENCY builds and manages:
Hospitals specifically dedicated to war victims and surgical emergencies.
Physical and social rehabilitation centres.
First aid centres for emergency treatment and to refer patients to surgical centres.
Healthcare centres for primary medical assistance.
Pediatric clinics.
Maternity centres.
Outpatient clinics and mobile clinics for migrants and people in need;
Centres of medical excellence
