THE FORUM FOR AFRICAN EDUCATIONALISTS (FAWE)

 

The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) is a non-political, charitable and not for profit pan - African organization that operates through 33 National Chapters in sub-Saharan Africa. FAWE promotes girls’ and women’s education through supporting gender equity and equality in education in Africa.

 

In the Sierra Leone, the FAWE national chapter focuses on policy and community advocacy and interventions ranging from:

  • Managing schools and rapid education programmes

  • Rehabilitation programmes for war-traumatized girls

  • Skills training centre for pregnant and war-affected women

  • Emergency schools and trauma centres for displaced and refugees

  • Guidance and counselling programmes
