PARTNERS IN HEALTH
Partners in health provides healthcare services to the world’s poorest communities in partnership with the national Government and local authorities. Specifically, partners in health support Governments to strengthen health systems, child healthcare, emergency response, HIV/AIDS, maternal and mental as well as tuberculosis.
In Sierra Leone, partners in health started operations in 2015 to support the Government deal with the Ebola virus but have stayed long after the country was declared Ebola Free. Currently, PIH are operating a well-body clinic and a special care unit at the Koidu Government Hospital as well as supporting health clinics throughout the district.
In the western area, PIH supported the Lakka Hospital by providing treatment for multidrug- resistance tuberculosis as well as providing food packages and social support. PIH also supports the Sierra Leone psychiatric teaching hospital with renovations and medications for severe rental mental health conditions and well as renovations of the structures.
